Stag dos at SBG Ireland HQ · Dublin 8
The MMA stag do he’ll never forget
Forget the bubble football. Put the lads through a proper fight camp at the gym that built world champions: learn to strike, take down and grapple like a pro, then crown your champions in the cage. It’s all coached, all controlled and all good fun, so the only thing getting bruised is the stag’s ego.

How the session runs
Five rounds, zero black eyes
Your session is private to your group and run by SBG Ireland coaches who teach total beginners every week. Everything is done on pads and in controlled partner drills, so it’s full-on fun without anyone getting hurt. Yes, even the groomsman who hasn’t been near a gym since his Leaving Cert.
- 01
Walk-in and warm-up
Meet your coaches, have a nose around Ireland’s most famous fight gym and get properly warmed up. Stretching is not optional, lads.
- 02
Striking
Jab, cross, kicks and knees on the pads. Find out who’s been secretly practising in the mirror.
- 03
Takedowns
The wrestling that wins MMA fights, taught slowly and safely: sprawls, double-legs and getting back up with your dignity intact.
- 04
Jiu-Jitsu
How fighters control the ground and tap someone out, done at half speed with a coach watching every pair.
- 05
The cage finale
Teams battle it out in a coached pad-work showdown in the cage. The stag gets a full fight-night walkout, and everyone gets the group photo.
Why SBG Ireland
Safe, fun and seriously legit
Dublin has karting, bubble football and pub crawls. Only one stag do puts you on the mats where world champions are made, with coaches who keep it safe and keep it fun.
- 01
Safe hands
Pads, not punches. There’s no sparring and no full contact, just controlled drills run by coaches who teach beginners every single day.
- 02
Big laughs
Never thrown a punch? Perfect. Every drill is pitched to the room, so the gym bunny and the lad who gets winded on the stairs both have a blast.
- 03
The real deal
SBG Ireland HQ is a 16,500 sq ft fight gym, home to two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor and to national, European and world champions since 2002.
- 04
Any group size
From a handful of mates to the whole wedding party, all group sizes are catered for. Bigger groups are split into teams.

Stag do FAQs
Questions from the best man
Everything the organiser usually asks, plus the questions the stag is too nervous to ask.
Is it safe? Will anyone get hurt?
Safety comes first. There’s no sparring and no full contact. You’ll hit pads, not people, and drill takedowns and holds with a partner at a controlled pace, with a coach watching every pair. The only thing getting bruised is the stag’s ego.
Do we need any experience?
None whatsoever. Every move is taught from scratch and the session is pitched at total beginners. Most stag groups have never set foot in a fight gym.
Will we actually be fighting each other?
Not really, and that’s the point. You’ll go head to head in team pad-work challenges, but nobody is throwing punches at anyone’s face. The wedding photos are safe.
What if some of the lads aren’t very fit?
No problem at all. Coaches pitch every drill to the room and anyone can take a breather when they need it. It’s about having a laugh together, not a fitness test.
How much does an MMA stag do at SBG cost?
Prices are on request and depend on your group and plans. Send us your date and numbers and we’ll come back to you with a quote.
How many people can come?
All group sizes are catered for, from a handful of mates to the whole wedding party. Bigger groups are split into teams for the cage finale.
When can we book?
Get in touch with your preferred date and we’ll check availability. The earlier you ask, the more choice you’ll have.
Can we have a few pints first?
Not before, no. Anyone who’s had a drink won’t be allowed on the mats, for their own safety and everyone else’s. Train first, then celebrate like champions.
What should we wear and bring?
A T-shirt and shorts or tracksuit bottoms, a water bottle and a towel. Take off jewellery and watches before you train.
Where is SBG Ireland HQ?
Unit 13, Goldenbridge Industrial Estate, Inchicore, Dublin 8, D08 WK22. It’s less than 4 miles from the city centre and easy to reach by car, bus, taxi or the Luas Red Line (Blackhorse stop).
Will Conor McGregor be there?
We can’t promise any famous faces. You’ll be coached by SBG Ireland’s own team, on the same mats the gym’s fighters train on.
Can the stag get special treatment?
Of course. Tell us when you book and the stag gets the full walkout, first go at every drill and the last word in the cage finale.
